Pain Relief

Near infrared (NIR) light can reverse and inhibit nerve conduction in small and medium diameter peripheral nerve fibres that release chronic pain. Near infrared light disrupt fast axonal transport by causing perturbation of microtubule arrays of small diameter neurons in dorsal root ganglia. There is also evidence that near infrared inhibits A-delta and C fibre transmission.
